Target Audience:

Healthcare professionals who may encounter patients exposed to the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) or patients with confirmed or at risk of developing infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes COVID-19.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the session the participant will be able to:

  • Recognize symptoms and lab and radiographic findings consistent with COVID-19, and apply that knowledge to a patient case.
  • List risk factors for extended illness and mortality in patients with COVID-19, and apply that knowledge to a patient case.
  • Describe strategies to treat and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • Recall risk assessment and management of HCPs with potential exposure to patients with COVID-19 in a healthcare setting.
