Learning Objectives

By the end of the session the participant will be able to:

  • Differentiate predictive vs. generative AI and identify practical applications across clinical care, administrative tasks, and their personal life.
  • Recognize the heterogeneity of prediabetes, identify different phenotypes, and their distinct risks for progression of diabetes and its complications.
  • Identify medications that are used for pre-diabetes and recognize specific circumstances which are recommended by the American Diabetic Association for medication initiation.
  • Describe core fitness metrics (VO₂ max, heart rate recovery, body composition, muscle mass) and their relevance to long-term health outcomes.
  • Apply practical strategies for counseling patients on dietary choices that support microbiome health, reduce processed food exposure, and integrate cultural practices into care plans; 6. Apply clinical insights on patient vulnerability (e.g., pediatrics, elderly, chronically ill) to improve diagnosis and management of climate-related health conditions.
